The market town of Blandford Forum is located beside the River Stour in Dorset, England. The majority of the town, notable for its Georgian architecture, was rebuilt in the 18th century after it was completely destroyed by fire in 1731. The town centre was rebuilt thanks to a grant from King George II and designs by regional architects John and William Bastard. The Blandford Georgian Fayre is a yearly celebration of its Georgian ancestry that takes place during the first week of May and features speeches, historical re-enactments, music, and dance. The Great Dorset Steam Fair, one of the town's greatest events, takes place over the late Bank holiday weekend.
