Bodmin, the former county seat of Cornwall, is well situated for discovering everything that this wonderful vacation destination has to offer with its small-town charm, shops, and pubs. Both the gentler sands and river estuaries of the south coast and the famed surf, rocky cliffs, and hidden coves of the north coast beaches are 15 miles distant, and on the outskirts of town are the intriguing museum and eerie remnants of the former Bodmin Jail. On its approach to the sea at Padstow, the well-known Camel Trail for bikers and hikers also passes through the town. The expansive, windswept magnificence of Bodmin Moor is close by, and other attractions like the unrivalled Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth's National Maritime Museum (30 miles), and the lovely harbour town of Padstow (16 miles), with its renowned restaurants and pubs, provide for wonderful days out. Visitors can visit Lanhydrock House, the tiny hamlet of Fowey, Charlestown with its tall ships, The Eden Project, and Lostwithiel, all of which are nearby and perfect for a fun-filled day trip. In the neighbourhood, there is a nice selection of rural pubs and eateries.

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
