The lovely village of Wye is located in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, halfway between Ashford and Canterbury. The quaint community was previously home to a well-known racecourse and is overshadowed by the Wye Downs region of chalk downland and woodland. It has a long history as an important communication hub because of the ford across the River Great Stour that connected old trackways throughout the North Downs. Even better, in 2013, it was named the third finest place to live in the entire UK. The village now features a bimonthly farmers market by The Green offering regional produce as well as an intriguing collection of historic structures. The Jacobean Godinton House and Gardens are nearby, and visitors can visit them or refuel at The New Fox Inn after picking up all their essentials at the neighbourhood store. A beautiful drive through the AONB will also take you to the renowned, historic cathedral city of Canterbury, where you can immerse yourself in the past by visiting the Roman Museum, St. Augustine's Abbey, the impressive Westgate Towers Museum and viewpoint, which has an intriguing escape room inside, and the Norman-built Canterbury Cathedral. With Wye as your base, explore all of this and more.

Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.
