A little farther on lies the harbour town of Porthmadog, from which you can take the Ffestiniog Railway to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, also known as "the town that roofed the world." The charming village of Beddgelert, to the north, is situated in the stunning Snowdonia National Park, where you can spend hours taking in the breath-taking scenery on foot or by bicycle. It is built around the Afon Glaslyn River and offers craft stores, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants, and an enchanting riverside walk.
