Located between Helmsley and Pickering, on the edge of North York Moors National Park, is the charming old market town of Kirkbymoorside. It's the hub of the surrounding farms and villages, and it exudes a charming, authentic Yorkshire vibe. Tea rooms, pubs, and restaurants sit alongside antique shops, and every Wednesday is market day. Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham, two quaint towns, as well as the National Park's excellent hiking and magnificent scenery, are conveniently located nearby. The North York Moors Steam Railway departs from Pickering and is a popular attraction for tourists. Nearby attractions include Castle Howard, York, Whitby, and the Yorkshire Coast.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
