Launceston, on the border between Devon and Cornwall, is home to some beautiful Georgian buildings in its town square and the crumbling remains of a Norman castle perched on a hill above. The Willow Tree Cafe and Woodland Walk are dog-friendly attractions, and the steam train from Launceston travels through the scenic Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. In addition to the beautiful Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, the seaside towns of Bude and Padstow to the north and Plymouth to the south are easily accessible from Launceston via car. Ideally situated for day trips to Devon and Cornwall.
