The serene town of Stockbridge, one of the smallest in the United Kingdom and renowned for its exceptional fly-fishing, is located in the Test Valley in between Andover and Romsey. It is here that the Houghton Fishing Club, the oldest fishing club in England, is located. It is difficult to imagine that the town, which is surrounded by rolling hills and a tranquil beauty, was once referred to as a "rotten borough" in the 1700s. Several charming Hampshire villages can also be found nearby, with their charming churches, traditional country pubs, and the magnificent Test Way. Poets will be pleased to learn that Stockbridge's beauty has inspired many authors, and that there is a poetry trail of ten poems that are scattered throughout the town centre and embedded in stone, metal, and glass. This location also makes it easy to explore the magnificent gardens at Mottisfont Abbey, Houghton Lodge, and Longstock Water Gardens, making it ideal for a family day out.

Hampshire offers a wealth of treasures, from rolling countryside, unspoilt beaches, glorious gardens and pretty villages to ancient forests, bustling market towns, historic ships and imposing castles.
