Penhow is a small, picturesque village in South Wales, located between Caldicot and Newport. The settlement has a convenience store, a restaurant (The Rock & Fountain), and a national nature reserve (Penhow Woodlands National Nature Reserve) in addition to its famous castle, which is often believed to be the oldest inhabited castle in all of Wales. A trip to Caldicot isn't too far away, and once there, you can enjoy the town's many restaurants and pubs, including the nearby Haywain and Cross Inn, as well as a variety of Chinese, Indian, and fish and chips takeout options. You can also enjoy a stroll through the nearby Brockwells Meadows, a look at the historic Caldicot Castle, and a performance at the nearby David Broome Event Centre. Take a trip to Newport and see the East Usk Lighthouse, RSPB Newport Wetlands, Newport Cathedral, and Shaftesbury Park, or go to Cardiff and see Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, Forest Farm Country Park, and the National Museum Cardiff.
