This detached lodge comes with two bedrooms, consisting of a double with en-suite shower room and a double, served by a bathroom and an open-plan living room with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with electric fire. Appliances include a gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, and for entertainment there is a TV and WiFi. Outside, there is off-road parking and a patio area with a hot tub, table and chairs. Two well-behaved pets are welcome but sorry, no smoking. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. You can find a shop within 1.8 miles and a pub in 1.1 miles. Note: No children under 12 years old. Note: WiFi only strong enough for emails and social media. Note: Dogs must not be left unattended. 6 Badgers Retreat is a wonderful base.

Resting at the entrance to Swaledale is the ancient market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. Within the town you will find a plethora of amenities, which grew up around its castle, a Norman fortress dating back to 1071, famously situated high above the river and offers the Castle Walk - a terrace walk beneath the castle walls - or walk alongside the River Swale.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
