It's only a short drive from Ruthin to Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park, and Clocaenog Forest, all of which offer stunning scenery. Further out, although still accessible by car, are the shoreline, Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and the historical city of Chester.
