Newtonmore's Wildcat Trail is a 7-mile circular walk around the village, taking in the River Spey, woodland, moorland, and views of the Cairngorms and Monadhliath Mountains - a fitting introduction to the National Park. Folk Park, Kincraig Wildlife Park, Landmark at Carrbridge, and Steam Railway are great for kids. The area is ideal for golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking, birdwatching, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, and skiing.
