What's better than a day at the beach with a picnic, viewing the ever-changing seascape, or beachcombing for treasure? Buy fresh fish at Folkestone's harbour and BBQ on the beach as the sun sets, or eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the Channel. Taking the ferry or rail will get you to a French restaurant or café in less than an hour. On the way home, get wine and cheese to end the day. Sandgate, Kent's hidden beauty.
