Blaenau Ffestiniog is a historic old slate town resting in an extremely desirable spot from which to explore the splendour of Snowdonia National Park. The town hosts a good selection of shops, pubs and eateries, as well as boasting the wonderful attractions of the Zip World Slate Caverns, the slate mines, and the Ffestiniog Mountain Railway letting you explore the National Park in a different way. With access to Porthmadog, Bala, Bangor and Colwyn Bay too, there's so much to explore here!
