In the county of Kent, the market town of Faversham is booming. This charming town provides tourists the option to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, fish, or eat out. It also has the oldest brewery in Britain, which dates to 1698, as well as a number of intriguing places to see and things to do. Up until the 1950s, many London-based families made "hop picking" a family holiday as a result of the brewery. One of the best spots to have a few beers is in the fields surrounding Faversham during the summer, when thousands of people swarm there to set up tents and spend the days "hop picking." With its cobblestone lanes, ancient homes, tiny quaint pubs, and several listed buildings, Faversham is proud of its heritage and is even mentioned in the Domesday Book. This town cherishes remembering its unique history.
