2 Bedroom Bed in Ludlow (96046)

Beautifully furnished and with a wealth of original beams throughout, this charming holiday escape sleeping four guests is ideal for a small family or couples. The cottage lies in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, with an abundance of wonderful scenic walks and cycle trails nearby, including stretches of the long-distance Shropshire Way, taking in the Iron Age hillfort at Nordy Bank. Visit the beautiful little Grade II-listed village church in Tugford and explore historic Ludlow (10 miles), with its medieval streets, and castle. The town has splendid independent shops, a clutch of traditional pubs and lovely walks along the River Teme. Craven Arms (9 miles) is home to Stokesay Castle, a remarkable, fortified medieval manor house surrounded by a moat, and the fascinating National Museum of Popular Culture, with exhibits from Victorian times to the 20th century. The cottage is one of two holiday homes set in a courtyard and next to a working livery yard. Enter via the doors into the open-plan living/dining/kitchen space beneath an impressive ceiling beam. This bright and roomy interior has a lovely country farmhouse vibe, housing a pretty painted dresser and wooden dining table, plus a well-fitted kitchen with all the cooking utensils you might need. Relax on comfortable seating in the lounge area and at bedtime, climb the wooden stairs to find two gorgeous bedrooms. Leading off a spacious landing, both have vaulted ceilings, with beams galore and latch wooden doors. The master bedroom houses a super-king-size, which can be made into a twin, with an en-suite shower. This light and airy room also has a small sofa and table beneath the skylight, and a separate external staircase. You’ll find a separate, peaceful reading nook with a cosy chair along the landing, while the charming twin bedroom sits next to the family bathroom. Outside, find a suntrap, gravelled patio with stylish garden furniture, a peaceful spot for a quiet drink or meal. Guests who wish to bring a horse can arrange stables and grazing in the adjacent livery yard by arrangement with the owners, at the time of booking and at extra cost. Immerse yourself in true working farm life, and observe goats, chickens, horses, highland cows and sheep living happily in this picturesque setting. Private parking for 2 cars - one allocated space at the front of the property. Up to one additional car can park in the car park by the yard.
