Head to nearby Richmond (5 miles) or Barnard Castle (11 miles), each with a castle to explore and many walks and attractions, including the Easby Abbey (5.5 miles) and The Station (5.5 miles) for a well-deserved slice of cake. Further afield, venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park (4 miles) and visit the Forbidden Corner (18 miles) or Bolton Castle (15 miles).
