Coniston Water lakeshore is only a short stroll away for water-based activities like sailing, SUP, kayaking, coasteering etc alternatively you can take a scenic boat tour on the restored steam gondola, or on one of the many regular boat trips, there is even the option of hiring your own motor or row boat. There is a variety of flat, or more challenging walks available from the front door. History buffs can explore the heritage-rich Coniston village, just 200 metres away, featuring notable landmarks such as the striking Brantwood House, once home to renowned Victorian writer, John Ruskin.
