With a delightful blend of maritime history, scenic beauty, and vibrant culture on the North East’s stunning coastline, and with its historic Fish Quay at the heart, North Shields exudes a welcoming charm and character all year round. From the rooftop, watch fishing boats return with the daily catch, and people enjoying the seafront. You may even spot dolphins. Excellent seafood shops abound, with a neighbouring coffee shop/artisan gelateria and plenty of restaurants and bars, some with live music, along the quay. Doorstep activities include a fishing trip from the marina, paddle surfing, body boarding, three national cycle routes and golf at the exceptional parkland Tynemouth Golf course (0.25 miles). A coastal walk brings you to the historic Collingwood statue, and Tynemouth Castle and Priory (1.2 miles) overlooking the headland and long pier. Browse in Tynemouth's historic Front Street and weekend covered market. Long Sands beach (1.5 miles) is great for surfers and dog walks, and Whitley Bay, and St. Mary’s lighthouse are close by (3 miles), and ride the Metro into Newcastle (9 miles). This eco-friendly, two-storey property is packed with carbon-neutral features and guarantees memorable sea views and a unique perspective on the surrounding sea and landscape. Head through the private, enclosed patio garden and enter the ground floor which has hanging space with a radiator for keeping any outdoor gear and bikes as needed. Walk up the dramatically painted and carpeted staircase to the apartment. Enter the lounge/dining space and you will immediately take in the wonderful sea views through the amazing feature windows. In this unique and welcoming room, you will find a comfortable sofa with a large footstool where you can sit and relax after days out exploring this popular seaside area; a Smart TV with a sound bar for your entertainment, and a dining table and seating for two, perfect for meals in together. The generous bedroom is just off the lounge with a super-king-size bed for a great night’s sleep and plenty of storage space. On this floor, you will also find the shower room, a separate WC, a fun alfresco bathtub, and a sauna where you can also enjoy a sea view. Head up the spiral staircase to the bright, airy kitchen, an additional lounge area, and an outside balcony with thirty-mile, all-round sea views. Sit with the binoculars and lose yourself in the seascape, watch the fishing boats return with their catch, and don't forget to look out for occasional visiting dolphins and seals The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to have an extraordinary dining experience with your locally-bought seafood and treats. After dinner, sit upstairs with your favourite drink in front of the cosy wood burner and unwind gazing between the piers out to sea. Outside, there is a balcony where you can dine alfresco or relax in the deck chairs. On the ground floor, there is a private, enclosed patio garden with a table and chairs.
