There’s also underfloor heating to keep you cosy on chilly evenings, a TV, comfy sofas, and a dining table. The kitchen is at the far end with everything you need to prepare tasty meals. Heading upstairs, there is a gorgeous king-size bedroom, with pretty throws and cushions adding colour and comfort, and a contemporary en-suite bathroom. Outside, relax in the sunshine on the swing garden seat on the patio, there’s a warm dog wash for Fido, and an enclosed dog field where he can play, as well as safe bike storage. Walk across the fields to the local inn (1 mile), visit the quirky town of Wirksworth (2 miles) to eat out, do some shopping, and watch a film the independent cinema. Cromford (3 miles) is home to a world-famous bookshop, an art gallery, pubs and shops, and there are pretty walks along the Cromford Canal. Matlock Bath (6 miles) feels like a seaside resort with ice cream shops and takeaways, and the Heights of Abraham reachable by cable car. If outdoor pursuits are your thing, you can go walking, cycling, sailing, and birdwatching at Carsington Water (4 miles).
