Light the wood burner, which is set into a stone chimney breast, during the colder months and sink back into the soft seating in front of the Smart TV or take your book over to the window seat. Take turns preparing delicious meals in the contemporary, country-style kitchen area, which has a handy central island, using the fresh Devon produce you have sourced on your forays. Then set the table for lively holiday meals or dine together out on the deck. When eyelids begin to droop, make your way upstairs to the first floor where your beautiful bedrooms, which both have vaulted ceilings, await. These include a king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a double with an en-suite bathroom. Bask in the sunshine out in the garden or on the deck. Light the BBQ on fine summer evenings and bubble in the hot tub under the stars. Pack your towels and costumes and spend an afternoon on the sand and in the sea at Putsborough, 4.5 miles away. The beach here, and further along at Woolacombe, is popular with surfers. Pick up the South West Coast Path at Putsborough and walk 2 miles out to the National Trust’s picturesque Baggy Point to spot seals.
