This beautifully crafted shepherd's hut has all mod cons tucked inside its cosy interior and breathtaking views of rolling countryside. Set in the peaceful grounds of a Herefordshire smallholding, it offers the perfect, romantic bolthole for two, and your canine friend can come too. The pretty village of Hoarwithy on the River Wye, 2 miles away, has a shop, and a pub serving food is within half a mile. You'll find more independent shops and great eateries in Hereford and Ross-on-Wye (both 7.5 miles). The hut is one of two on an elevated site, surrounded by fields and trees. Charmingly furnished to enhance its traditional character, it features a neat kitchen, a cosy table for two and a raised double bed, with a wood burner effect electric fire for cosy nights. A spacious shower room completes the layout. Outside, a large, enclosed garden patio with a picnic bench and a fire pit is perfect for star gazing on clear nights. Don your boots for a 4.5-mile circular path from Hoarwithy, one of a range of scenic trails in this National Landscape. These include the Wye Valley Walk that takes you across the border of England and Wales. You can hire a canoe or kayak for a peaceful trip along the Wye, and be sure to see Hoarwithy's remarkable, Grade I-listed Italianate church. Visit the impressive, 16th-century Market House in historic Ross-on-Wye to see a diverse range of locally produced arts and crafts. The Wye also runs through the city of Hereford, with its magnificent cathedral and the Black and White Museum, housed in a fine, half-timbered house.
