2 Bedroom Bed in Ennerdale (93196)

A duo of en-suite bedrooms and a chic, sociable kitchen space make this fabulous country abode an idyllic bolthole for two couples and their canine companions. Located on the western edge of the national park, it offers stunning fell views and walks across farmland to the nearby river. For a change of scene, the coast is just 7 miles away and a beautiful place to explore with your dogs by your side. One of a small collection of properties in a blissful fellside location, this two-bedroomed holiday home has ultra-modern interiors within a wood-clad facade. Step inside and a handy utility room to your right has that country-living essential: space for walking boots, weatherproof coats and doggie gear. Once everything’s safely stowed, cross the hallway into a high-ceilinged lounge with French doors which open onto a patio. On cooler evenings, you can curl up before the wood burner, stream a favourite movie on the Smart TV and chill. Striking stone flooring flows throughout the ground floor, giving each room a fine contemporary feel. Nowhere is this more evident than in the sleek, skilfully crafted kitchen, which has bi-folding doors to bring the outside in and bar-style seating at a central kitchen island. There’s a more formal dining suite to one end, and lots of floor space for the dogs to stay close at all times. A beautifully designed bathroom is set just off the hallway from the kitchen, and has both a bath and separate shower. Accentuating the property’s versatility, there’s also a bedroom on the ground floor, complete with its own en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is on the first floor; set in the eaves, it also boasts its own en-suite shower room. Ensuring that the property will appeal to all party make-ups, the beds are a double and a super-king-size zip-and-link which can, on request, be made up as a twin set instead. There’s also a sofa bed in the lounge to sleep an additional two guests. Bask in the beauty of your surroundings as often as possible – the garden here offers great views across the fells. Enjoy al fresco food and drink out on the patio, or walks into the pretty woodland which has an enclosed field at one end where dogs can let off steam. Guests are welcome to explore the land around the farm and enjoy a walk to the River Ehen. Wander half a mile and you’ll find welcoming country inns and a coffee shop in the village of Ennerdale Bridge, while Ennerdale Water is less than 2 miles from your doorstep. This is the most westerly and remote of all the lakes, so even in high season, it’s a peaceful place to explore. The surrounding valley is one of the largest forests in Cumbria and there are many paths to discover here. Indulge your sense of adventure with a hike to Kinniside Stone Circle (1.5 miles) where, on a clear day, you can see the coast at Whitehaven, and beyond to Scotland and the Isle of Man. For a more laid-back day out, take a walk along the promenade or relax on the sandy beach at the coastal town of St Bees (7 miles).
