Consett, Northumbria
Gather a group for a holiday in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There’s space for two couples and their dogs or a mixed group within a terraced stone cottage, which dates back to the 1860s. The property has plenty of timeless charm and is located in a quiet area, 2.5 miles from the nearest village. Anyone who loves the great outdoors is sure to have a wonderful time. Enter through the hall and come to a kitsch living room, warmed by an electric fire. The decoration, which continues throughout the house, is traditional and pretty. It’s a perfect place to relax when you arrive or after a busy day exploring. The next room is a kitchen, with wooden touches and everything you’ll need for making tasty meals, and the dining room is adjacent for your convenience. Head upstairs, where you’ll find two double bedrooms, both of which have incredible views of the surrounding area. Please be aware that one of the beds is a 4’ double. The family shower room is also on this level. You’ll have an enclosed front garden where you can let the dogs roam, or why light the charcoal BBQ and cook up a feast on sunny afternoons? There’s also a table outside so you can enjoy a morning drink and watch the birds. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is an incredible place with plenty to do and see. Check out some local walks or hire bikes and get exploring! For those who enjoy water sports, look into White Water Tubing at Barnard Castle (17 miles away) or visit Derwent Waterside Park (8 miles away), where you can go fishing, sailing, and then finish off with something tasty in the cafe.
