This property is situated just a short walk from Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. A bustling market town with restaurants, local shops, cafes, art galleries, and play parks on your doorstep, it’s perfect for those looking to explore the Lakes for walking, cycling, swimming, and sightseeing. It’s also a great location to explore the Western Fells and Lakes – Scafell Pike, Grasmoor, Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks, Keswick and Buttermere are all within 30 miles. Whinlatter Forest is 7 miles away, where you can Go Ape or hire bikes and explore the great forest trails. The shore path at Bassenthwaite (8 miles) runs the length of the west shore leading to Keswick (12.5 miles) and makes for a lovely stroll. Visit the Lake District Wildlife Park (7 miles) for a walk on the wild side, or test your palette when enjoying a tour at the Lakes Distillery (5 miles). Taste Cumbria Food Festival is held in September in Cockermouth, with a huge range of local produce as well as live music. This detached property with stunning views towards the Lorton Vale and Embleton Fells offers a great retreat for families and friends. There is a lovely, enclosed garden which is a great place to sit with a morning coffee or a good book on a sunny day, and there is secure storage in the garage for bikes and sports equipment.
