The village of Burgh St Peter is in the Norfolk Broads with the Waveney River Centre (0.5 miles), allowing you to rent your own boat for a day exploring the River Waveney. Nature lovers can take the foot ferry across to the Suffolk Wildlife Trusts Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve, with bird-watching hides and a visitor centre with a cafe. This attractive, newly renovated barn (2022) is full of stylish decor and original charm. As you enter, your eye will be drawn by the striking exposed wooden beams that bring a rustic character to a bright, spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area features an inviting sofa to sink onto at the end of your day's activities. Relax, chat and watch a movie together on the Smart TV. Along the coast, Gorleston-on-Sea (11 miles) is a must-visit for its wide, curving sandy beach and impressive cliff gardens.
