Also worth a visit is the historic Braemar and Royal Deeside 21 miles north over the mountain, Cairnwell. Alongside the abundance of forest and mountain walks, you may want an adrenaline buzz. Local activity providers run year-round activities including rafting, clay pigeon shooting and quad biking whilst canyoning and adventure tubing are available in the summer. You are only 12 miles south of the Glenshee ski area with some of the best on and off-piste skiing to be had in Scotland.
