Nearby is the refurbished Dumfries house and estate or explore Britain’s first official coast-to-coast footpath, the Southern Upland Way, or Drumlanrig Castles' extensive gardens and spectacular history (10.6 miles). Take a ride on a famous Clydesdale horse at the Blackstone Farm (18 miles). Set on the River Nith, one of Scotland's famous salmon rivers you may also spot wildlife a plenty from livestock to birds.

This beautiful stone cottage has been designed with accessibility in mind with a ramp up to the front door. The utility room offers a washing machine and space to hang coats and store muddy boots.
