Nearby is the refurbished Dumfries house and estate or explore Britain s first official coast to coast footpath, the Southern Upland Way, or Drumlanrig Castles' extensive gardens and spectacular history (10.6 miles). Take a ride on a famous Clydesdale horse at the Blackstone Farm (18 miles). Set on the River Nith, one of Scotland's famous salmon rivers you may also spot wildlife a plenty from livestock to birds.
