This countryside property with crisp and bright interiors is an excellent base for six guests plus two canine companions to explore the Wye Valley National Landscape’s ancient woodlands, quaint market towns and historic attractions. Spend quality time with your loved ones in the pretty cottage garden and the dining room or enjoy some alone time in the snug/library room. Enter the two-storey property through the porchway, through the hall and into the airy lounge with a wide window and glass sliding door which opens onto the garden. Additional seating can be found in the tranquil snug with wooden furnishings, a range of books to choose from, and access to the garden. Continue into the well-sized, traditional cottage kitchen with wooden cabinets and light surface tops alongside a small breakfast table. Family dinnertimes can be enjoyed in the bright dining room with chandelier lighting above the wooden dining table – which sits in front of the large glass sliding doors that open onto the patio. Also on the ground floor is a utility room and a separate WC. Climb the stairs to find a family bathroom plus three bedrooms: an en-suite king-size with countryside views, a double and a twin room. Enjoy the tranquillity of staying in the rural village of Bridstow and take advantage of riverside walking trails from your doorstep. Discover the 12th-century Norman Wilton Castle ruins (1 mile) and take Fido for a run around Ross River Bank Viewpoint Park and Garden (1.5 miles). For a meal out or to pick up some essentials, head into the market town of Ross-on-Wye (2 miles). Wander through the pine forests and ancient oak woodlands of the Forest of Dean (13 miles) and climb the trail to Symonds Yat Rock (9 miles) for far-reaching valley views.
