It’s a haven for walkers and cyclists where you can enjoy riverside walks along the Wye or climb the trail to Symonds Yat Rock where you can admire the valley view. The Forest of Dean is steeped in history with ancient oak woodlands, pine forests, and wildlife, and caters well to outdoor adventures. For historians, you can step back in time at Clearwell Caves or Hopewell Colliery (both 13 miles). You are also spoilt for choice with market towns to explore, as both Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye are within easy reach. Ross-on-Wye (2 miles) is hailed as the birthplace of modern tourism with its 17th-century market house, and Monmouth (10.5 miles) is the birthplace of Henry V.
