Bridport, Dorset and Somerset
Enjoy a stay with all the family in this charming historic building dating back to the 15th century, exploring the coastal delights and countryside rambles that are just on your doorstep. Located on a farm, you’ll love the rural lifestyle, and the kids will be thrilled to play in the shared play barn. Entering the property, you’re immediately met with an original Tudor arch with a sandy colour palette and the ‘wow factor’. From the hall, there is an ancient prayer room, which now houses a mini pool table and joins to the kitchen/diner which is a great place to gather together. Here, the aged wooden feature wall meets modern lighting and kitchen facilities in harmony with a large kitchen island offering ample space to prepare a feast. For mealtimes, the dining table is conveniently located to one side, situated next to a bright window with beautiful countryside views. To the rear of the property is the wide-open living room with an exposed brick fireplace, a pew-style window seat and two sumptuous sofas for relaxing whilst watching a film. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms as well as a spacious family bathroom featuring a roll-top bathtub. The first of the rooms features a king-size bed and far-reaching views out of the window; a single bed is also available for use upon request. Next door is a twin room with a fantastic plank-and-muntin wall giving the room a warming glow. The final room is a double with an inset fireplace, beamed ceilings and lots of other quirky original touches adding interest to the space. Outside is an enclosed lawn and gravelled area with plenty of seating options to ensure the best use of the space during the summer months. In addition, there is a shared play barn on-site equipped with a table tennis table for use. With an array of countryside walks all around, this is a fantastic option for a family holiday for those in search of adventure. Head to Coney’s Castle or Lamberts Castle to explore the historic past of the local area or visit Charmouth (1.5 miles) to spend the day hunting for fossils and relaxing at the beach.
