There is also a delightful art gallery. The River Walkham runs through the village, which is famous for its ancient stone bridge (the Bagpuss Bridge). Yelverton, with its larger shops, is only 2 miles away. Just 15 miles south is the Ocean City, Plymouth, where you can find the National Marine Aquarium, The Hoe, Tinside Lido and the Theatre Royal. Visit the historic stannary market town of Tavistock, only 4 miles away with some fantastic places to stop for lunch.
