Near the border to England, in the quiet Welsh countryside, this sleek and memorable timber-clad lodge is surrounded by picturesque nature trails, dramatic castle ruins and the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. A group of six friends or family members, plus one canine companion, can enjoy a blissful break in this luxurious property with a hot tub, sauna and vast picture windows throughout. The main hub of the property with vaulted beamed ceilings is grass-fronted with far-reaching countryside views and is decorated with a neutral-toned rustic chic design with a splash of colour throughout. A wood burner keeps the room warm while you sit in the cosy lounge with two leather sofas. The galley farmhouse-style kitchen boasts a Rangemaster electric oven, a wine cooler and a breakfast bar. Adjacent, is a chic wooden dining table with bench and chair seating. Also on this floor are two bedrooms with artisan wallpaper and en-suite shower rooms – a super-king-size and a twin room. On the lower ground floor is a super-king-size bedroom with a study area and a terrace. Also on this level is a six-person sauna with a Himalayan salt wall, a drinks fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine. While staying in the rural village of Llandyssil, you can hike along Offa’s Dyke trail from Brompton Crossroads (4.5 miles) or head into the Shropshire Hills (9 miles). Visit Montgomery (2 miles) to find 12th-century castle ruins and an array of independent shops and restaurants.
