The host town of Middleham is renowned for its history and racehorses. Much of the history surrounds its Norman castle – explore its ruins after watching the famous horses make their way to the gallops each morning. The town’s market square offers a range of shops, pubs, and places to eat, while the bustling market town of Leyburn (2 miles) offers a greater variety of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and pubs. While in Leyburn, explore the popular Forbidden Corner (2.5 mile) where a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and other surprises are set across 4 acres of peaceful grounds. For outdoor enthusiasts, reach the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, and the valleys of Wensleydale all within 30 miles. Venture up the spiral staircase to find one of many hidden rooms – a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and spectacular views out to Middleham Castle. Returning to the main hallway, a corridor leads off to another beautiful double room set next to a spacious bathroom with a roll-top bath.
