About This Property
Oc 42254 The Lodge At Logie House is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
Nestled in an idyllic private position, this historic home is surrounded by 335 acres of a beautiful working organic farm and country estate. It’s located within 1 mile of the historic town of Kirriemuir, the birthplace of J M Barrie, author of Peter Pan, and Bon Scott of the rock group ACDC. It’s also perfectly positioned close to the southern fringes of the Cairngorms National Park with the stunning Angus Glens of Isla, Clova and Prosen to explore, perfect for all outdoor pursuits. Visit Loch Kinnordy, a wonderful RSPB reserve, the spectacular waterfall at Reekie Linn and Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of the Queen Mother. Golfers can enjoy several fantastic local and links courses including Kirriemuir, Forfar, Rosemount, Alyth, Blairgowrie and the championship course at Carnoustie.
Step inside this detached single-storey period cottage from the beautiful mature gardens into the vestibule, and head through to the light and bright lounge. Relax on the comfortable sofa and the retro stylish chairs after a day out exploring the splendid local area. Watch a great movie on the Smart TV with an active Netflix account or just sit back and admire the views with an abundance of wildlife that regularly visits the garden. On those cooler evenings, light up the lovely roaring wood burner. There is also a dining area in the lounge for romantic or family gatherings. Next is the master king-size bedroom with dual-aspect windows with beautiful views to enjoy, as well as a handy sink and ample storage space. Continuing through to the rear hall, there is direct access outside to the gardens and parking area. You are first met with a wonderfully presented twin bedroom with lovely views over the country estate’s gardens. Next is the well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and a handy dishwasher. Finally, completing the delightful accommodation is the bathroom with a handheld shower over the bath, a separate shower cubicle and a WC.
Venturing outside, there is a covered seating area directly in front of the house for al fresco dining or lazy evening stargazing in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Off-road private ample parking is available and there is a garage to house one car with secure storage for outdoor gear and bikes. The property is located amid 335 acres of woodland and a walled garden with kitchen and medicinal herb gardens. There is also an orchard with an array of seasonal fruit trees, a wildflower meadow, a wildlife pond and a small loch with a waterfall. Guests are welcome to explore the established countryside tracks and forest trails. There is also abundant wildlife to spot including red kites, ospreys, red squirrels, beavers, badgers, otters, roe deer and garden birds. This property has a private water supply.
