Wells Stable Cottage is a dog friendly holiday cottage.
Once used for accommodating the head groom at the stables, the cottage has an elevation that affords it a huge amount of privacy. The stone steps lead to a cloakroom, ideal for hanging coats after an invigorating walk. The bright, airy lounge boasts a log burning stove, a smart TV and relaxing views from the table into the fields where horses and sheep graze. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine. Up the curving stairs is a spacious king size bed with enhanced views over the old park land and next door is a shower and WC. Attached to the cottage is a fully enclosed garden with furniture and a fire pit, to enjoy al fresco dining or late night star gazing. There is also secure Bike storage and ample off road parking. Found at the end of the quiet and rural Rulewater valley, local amenities are close at hand. The picturesque village of Denholm is just 2.5m away, and boasts a local Post Office and village shop, an Italian restaurant, welcoming inns, a coffee shop and even a garage. Over the hill lies the Town of Jedburgh. Steeped in history, with an Abbey, a Castle and Jail and Mary Queen of Scots House to explore, not to mention various boutique shops and coffee houses to peruse. The cottage is set just off the Borders Abbey Way, a beautiful circular walk spanning 65miles, including Jedburgh, Melrose, Kelso and Dryburgh s 12 Century Abbeys. The world renown biking center of Innerleithen and Glentress is also well within reach and Kielder Forest with its Observatory, is also well worth a visit.
