Ventnor’s Botanic Garden is also worth a visit with its selection of subtropical plants. Visit the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary (1 mile), a haven for rescued donkeys and ponies. Head off on foot or bike into the stunning surrounding countryside and pay a visit to Appuldurcombe House (1 mile), a grand 18th-century country manor.
