Retreat to this beautiful former farmhouse at Witherslack, in Cumbria, and soak up the beauty of the Lake District with a group of family or friends. Sleeping up to nine guests, the five-bedroom, stone, country home, sits in superb grounds and could be ideal for a large family, two or even three small families together, or a party of friends marking a special celebration. Enjoy it as a base from which to get out and about in the great outdoors. Spend the day at Lake Windermere, 7.5 miles away, or simply savour the special time you have away together, relaxing in comfort inside this gorgeous house or outside in its beautiful gardens. Step into the property, with its beautiful flagstone floors and other character features, via the back door. Discard shoes and other outerwear in the boot room, with its washing machine, tumble dryer and WC, then head into the splendid, country-style kitchen/diner, which has underfloor heating, to put the kettle on for a fresh pot of tea and slice the cake you bought on your latest excursion. Unpack the fresh ingredients you sourced for supper in here too, storing produce in the walk-in larder, ready to whip something tasty up in the range later on. Step up into the lounge to fire up the wood burner, switch on the Smart TV and settle down to a relaxing evening together. Members of your party might choose to go into the snug instead to read a novel or watch TV. Climb the stairs, pausing on the landing to gaze out at the impressive views, and discover all your bedrooms are up on the first floor. These include three king-size rooms, a twin and a single, with a three-quarter-size bed. Run yourself a bubble bath in the roll-top in the family bathroom or have a shower in one of the two shower rooms up here. Spread out into the garden to play rounders together, dine outside or just relax for a while and take in the views from out in the fresh air. Find you have different seating areas and that you can secure bicycles in the barn with your own locks. There is parking for up to five cars.
