Stroll down to Derwentwater Marina (less than half a mile) and plan a fun day of water sports – there’s everything here including sailing, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. Hike to the Catbells (2.5 miles) on the western shore or try water scrambling at Stoneycroft Ghyll (2.5 miles). Whizz from the treetops at Whinlatter Forest (3.5 miles) or take a leisurely walk around Borrowdale (4.5 miles), a great backdrop for holiday photos with Ashness Bridge and the aptly named Surprise View. Or explore lively Keswick (1 mile), where you’ll find a wealth of shops, pubs, and eateries, along with an art cinema, theatre, and pencil museum.
Step inside and kick off your hiking boots in the hallway before walking through to the rest of the accommodation, decorated in a farmhouse style. Settle in for a cup of tea and chat in the living room, which has two cosy sofas, slate floors, a selection of books and the perfect armchair to curl up in with your favourite book - stay warm from the heat of the cosy wood burner. Or, plan film evenings here on the TV with Sky, a DVD player, and soundbar.
