With something for everyone, Keswick is also home to a famous Pencil Museum, swimming pool, crazy golf, climbing wall and art gallery. Leaving the town itself, the beautiful Derwentwater lies just 1 mile away, offering a regular launch service with the option to hop on and off at various points. At Lingholm, visit the walled garden that inspired Beatrix Potter, at Hawse End take a stroll up Catbells via Rowling End, or jump off at Lodore to see the waterfall before treating yourself to a cream tea at the hotel. Rising above nearby Braithwaite is the mountainous Whinlatter Forest, home to paths, bike trails and Go Ape - great for adrenaline junkies.
