Kids will love visiting the aquarium at Newby Bridge (6 miles) and Beatrix Potter’s home at Far Sawrey, 14 miles. Avid hikers will find plenty to challenge them in the wider area, with climbs at Coniston Old Man, the Langdale Pikes and even Scafell Pike.
