Set out on foot from the property to follow quiet footpaths towards Skiddaw and Blencathra, or take on High Pike, 15 miles away, or Carrock Fell, 13 miles away. After a long day on foot, head to the friendly local pub in Bassenthwaite village or enjoy a picnic while looking out for ospreys beside Bassenthwaite Lake. For mountain biking, Whinlatter Forest Park, 10 miles away, boasts fantastic trails plus a high ropes course, cafe and outdoor play area. Or, for a day of indulgence, enjoy a pampering spa treatment at Armathwaite Hall, just 2 miles away. This recently refurbished cottage boasts a homely and welcoming feel – perfect for families.
