Head off from here on foot to explore the Helvellyn range; climb St Sunday Crag, just over 1 mile away; see serene Grisdale Tarn, about 2.5 miles away. Hike 4 miles to impressive Aira Force Waterfall and take in the views over Ullswater. Catch a steamer from Aira Force to Pooley Bridge, where you can hire your own boat if you wish. Head to Penrith, 14.5 miles away, to go shopping and dine out.
