With uninterrupted views of the Wasdale fells, this impressive holiday home offers self-catering accommodation in a stunning location which is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the high fells or along the banks of the River that flows past the pub at Santon Bridge. Scafell Pike is a short distance away at the end of the Wasdale Valley. The Santon Bridge Inn is just a 10-minute walk away and hosts the International Greatest Liar competition towards the end of the year. It also serves good food and fine ale. Wasdale (10 mins drive) also boasts Englands deepest lake (Wastwater), highest mountain (Scafell) and smallest church (St Olafs). Eskdale is another lovely valley, only 10 minutes drive away, with hundreds of river and mountain walks. It also houses a terminus for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway - a popular miniature railway that travels 7 scenic miles to the coastal fishing village of Ravenglass. Muncaster Castle, Gardens and Owl Centre is also 15 minutes away and has lots going on all year round. The front door leads to the beamed sitting room with a Victorian cast iron fire place and TV with built in DVD player. From the sitting room is the beamed kitchen, which has seating for six and is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. The kitchen door leads to the downstairs WC and wash basin and then out to the garden. The stairs lead from the kitchen to the double bedroom with window and views to the front of the property. On this floor is also a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The small twin bedroom leads off from the first floor landing area. At the back of the cottage is a lovely enclosed garden entered via a small gateway opposite the back door across a cobbled rear access. In the garden is a sitting out area that has fantastic views of the Lakeland fells including Scafell Pike and Great Gable.
