If you are a foodie, head to one of the local farm shops with delis and tea-room and where you will see farm animals grazing in the paddocks. The historic market town of Richmond is just a few miles away with much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. Explore the cobbled market square or stroll up towards Richmond Castle for a slice of Yorkshire history. Head north to Barnard Castle, streets lined with independent shops, cafes and art galleries. Bowes Museum is well worth a visit.
