Explore nearby Dovedale on foot, cycle through pretty towns and villages or get your adrenaline pumping with a day on the water. Afterwards, return to this beautifully finished rural retreat to warm up beside the wood burner or dine alfresco in the enclosed garden. Inside this traditional stone-built cottage, find spacious, light and stylish accommodation with a charming rustic feel throughout. Rustle up family feasts in the stunning kitchen/diner, with its chic appliances, pendant lighting and exposed beams, before stepping through to the cosy lounge. With a warming wood burner, inviting sofas and TV, this is just the place to return to after a long and blustery walk. Upstairs, both bedrooms have been tastefully finished in restful deep hues with cosy soft furnishings, antique finds and rustic touches. Outside, a wonderful mature garden with open views of the farmland is a peaceful spot for summer BBQs surrounded by nature. Follow the 13-mile long Tissington Trail on foot, bicycle or horseback and admire the beautiful countryside of the Derbyshire Dales, or spend an afternoon on a paddleboard, sailing boat or kayak at Carsington Water (9 miles). When you’d rather not cook, grab a restorative bite to eat at the pub in the nearby village of Parwich (1 mile), voted one of the best places to live in Britain.
