Join the 180-mile traffic-free Tarka Trail as you step outside either on foot or by bike, which you can hire from Bideford Bicycle Hire which is almost next door. Whether you’re enjoying summer evenings in the garden around the BBQ or you’re curled up in front of the fire in the lounge, everyone will find their own corner here. The kitchen diner is fresh and bright thanks to bifold doors leading out to riverside views, while the oak dining table makes it a pleasure to eat meals at. At bedtime, nab the main bedroom to have your own en-suite shower room and a balcony; wake up and head through the bifold doors with your morning coffee to sit and watch the Little White Town wake up. When you’ve explored the impressive market town, head to Westward Ho! (3.5 miles) where the fantastic surf, amusement arcades and the dramatic Northam Burrows Country Park will keep you busy for hours. The BIG Sheep (2 miles) is perfect for adrenaline-seeking children, as is the Milky Way Adventure Park (9.5 miles) which is ideal if you’ve brought your dogs as they’re welcome to join you around the park. Stroll around the pretty gardens at RHS Rosemoor (8.5 miles) or go gnome and pixie hunting at the quirky Gnome Reserve (12 miles) where over 60 gnomes are hiding among the wildflowers and woodland.
