Wake up to the gentle sounds of the river, grab your morning coffee and watch the morning unfold from the enclosed patio. Whether you’re off down the Tarka Trail on bikes provided by the owner by arrangement or you’re gazing out at the views from the open-plan living area, you’ll feel close to the outdoors here. The interiors take advantage of the calming blue and white tones of the sea and there are lots of little nautical details dotted throughout. The open-plan living area is bright and airy during the day, but draw the curtains at night and light the ethanol-fuelled wood burner and it turns into a cosy haven. Sizzle up a BBQ out on the patio or head through the gate to join the South West Coast Path for a leisurely walk. Kids who love their thrills will revel in the rides at the BIG Sheep (3 miles) and the Milky Way Adventure Park (10 miles), while you may prefer the peaceful cobbled streets of Clovelly (12.5 miles) with its tranquil harbour and stunning waterfall half a mile’s walk out of the village. Saunton Sands (16.5 miles) is a quiet beach that is ideal for paddlers and novice surfers.
