From the nearby coastal village of Seahouses (7.5 miles) you can take a boat out to see the puffins and seals in the nature reserves of the Farne Islands. Other local attractions include Dunstanburgh Castle (16 miles), St Cuthbert’s Cave (8 miles) and Lindisfarne (11.5 miles).
