Choose from some water-based activities such as dolphin spotting, riverboat trips or fishing, or head along the coastal paths for some spectacular walks around the area. Go wildlife hunting at Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and Holy Island (13 miles) or visit the imposing Bamburgh Castle (18 miles). Harry Potter fans will recognise Alnwick Castle (28 miles) from the film series; the attraction has year-round events and is a great family day out.
